About CompareHandhelds

CompareHandhelds is built and maintained by Mick, an independent developer who got tired of digging through spec sheets, Reddit threads and spreadsheets every time a new retro handheld came out. The site puts every device in one place, with the same specs, the same Performance levels and local prices, so you can compare any two of them side by side.

No brand pays to be listed, ranked or reviewed here. Devices from Anbernic, Retroid, AYN, Miyoo, AYANEO and others are judged on the same scale.

How the site makes money

Only through affiliate links to Amazon and AliExpress: if you buy through one, the store pays a small commission at no extra cost to you. There are currently no ads on the site. The commission never changes a score or a ranking. See the affiliate disclosure.

Where the data comes from

Specs come from manufacturer pages and are reviewed before a device goes live. Emulation ratings are set per device and rechecked against published reviews every month. The methodology explains every rating, score and list in detail.

Spot a mistake?

Corrections are welcome and get fixed quickly. Mail comparehandhelds@gmail.com with the device and what is wrong, ideally with a source.
